The Department of the Interior's Bureau of Land Management (BLM) recently released the draft plan for the Restoration Design Energy Project (RDEP). The initiative seeks to identify lands across Arizona most suitable for wind and solar power projects, with a focus on areas that are previously disturbed or have low natural and cultural resource conflicts.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized two Department of Defense (DoD) facilities with the Energy Star Combined Heat and Power (CHP) award for taking an efficient, clean, and reliable approach to generating power and thermal energy from a single source. By using CHP technology, the award winners demonstrated leadership and a commitment to protecting people's health and the environment while reporting annual energy savings of $6.8 million.

The U.S. General Services Administration's Northeast and Caribbean Region recently received an initial rebate check for more than $79,000. This rebate reflects savings GSA earned by participating in the New York Independent System Operator's Demand Response Program, a local energy load shedding program.
